Furoshiki

Furoshiki are a traditional Japanese cloth used for wrapping gifts and carrying everyday items. The use of furoshiki declined in the post-war period due the availability of cheaper, disposable plastic bags. In recent years their use has been promoted because of environmental concerns.

The Japanese Enviroment Agency issued this poster in 2006 to encourage the use of furoshiki.
